What is Bearcast?
Bearcast is the University of Cincinnati’s student radio station. All DJs and station directors are students.
What’s on Bearcast?
Bearcast features a wide variety of music, sports, and talk programming. Check out our show schedule to find out more.

Listening

Can I listen to Bearcast over the air?
Bearcast does not have an AM or FM signal. We broadcast only on the Internet. To listen, just visit our website and click on the “listen now” button.
What type of stream is available?
We currently have a Windows Media Player stream. If you do not have Windows Media Player installed, it is a free download from Microsoft.
Can I listen on an Apple/Mac computer?
Yes! Flip4Mac is a free download that will allow you to open our stream in Quicktime.

Can I submit music to Bearcast?

You may e–mail our music director at music@bearcastradio.com to confirm that we’ve received your music. At ths time, we accept submissions on CD or vinyl. We can not currently accept digital music submissions.
Does Bearcast feature local, independent, or national artists on the air?
Bearcast frequently features local bands and touring groups playing in the area. Contact our programming director at programming@bearcastradio.com to set up an in–studio interview and performance.

Membership

How do I become a DJ on Bearcast?
If you are a UC student, you can become a DJ. The first step would be to start attending our organization meetings and talk with the programming director. Before you are given a show, you must attend an informational meeting about the station’s policies, go through a simple audition process, and be trained on all station equipment.
Can I join Bearcast if I don’t want to be a DJ?
Yes! There are a lot of other areas where you can help. Bearcast can use help in every department, including music, productions, sales/business, and sports. Read our join page to find out more.
